There have been many hospitality schools but Lausanne Hotel School tops them all. Located in the picturesque city of Lausanne, this school is the dream for any person who wants to make it big in the hospitality industry. This becomes even more evident in the study conducted Taylor Nelson Sofres Travel & Tourism- the largest custom research and analysis firm- in 2007. Swiss hotel schools bagged the top three spots and Lausanne Hotel School was one of them. During the Belle Époque phase in Switzerland which was like a Renaissance, there was a need for skilled personnel and the prestigious Lausanne Hotel School was created which is the top and the first hotel school.
The Lausanne Hotel School is also known as the École hôtelière de Lausanne, or the EHL. It is according to most people, the best hotel school. But, it also has statistics on its side; the Lausanne Hotel School has been ranked as the number one hotel school according to the study. This school focuses on creativity and innovation i.e. the art aspect of management rather than the science aspect of management. Lausanne Hotel School graduates are seen working in senior positions at the Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt etc.
There is a 4 year course at the Lausanne Hotel School which can be competed in either English or French. There is also a 2 year diploma course and a 14 month master's course.

Swiss hotel schools offer a good education in the hospitality sector, as they place value not only on theoretical knowledge but also on practical training in real businesses. The Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL) is one of the premier Lausanne tourism schools.

About 75% of their graduates find employment in the industry immediately because the school does such a great job of preparing them for a variety of jobs in the hospitality sector. Graduate of EHL find jobs in hotels and restaurants, but also in casinos, cruises or airlines. Their training prepares them well to organize meetings and conferences, and they also sometimes find work in service industries beyond tourism as auditors or consultants for private banks. The art of hospitality and providing services to clients transfer well to practically any service industry, and the professional experience that students at EHL gain while still in school is highly valued by businesses.

Bargain City Breaks Away from Lausanne’s Winter Cold: Lanzarote Holidays

While Lausanne, in Switzerland, can be a majestic destination in the snow filled winter, some tourists like to steer clear of freezing temperatures for their holidays. Fortunately, there are alternative Bargain City Breaks that provide a warmer climate, and they are within Europe, too. Lanzarote holidays are popular because the island's location in the Canaries off the north-west coast of Africa means it enjoys great weather year round.

The coastline is known for a combination of lovely resorts and beaches, but this is not the only attraction on Lanzarote worth visiting. The spectacular volcanic landscape of Timanfaya National Park in the south-west of the island is a world unto itself. The rugged terrain was formed between 1730 and 1736 in a series a volcanic eruptions that buried 11 villages in lave and ash. A group of hills known as the Fire Mountains remain, which are devoid of flora and fauna. These are surrounded y a 50 km area covered in volcanic soil which supports some delicate plant life. The area is completely safe for visitors, but access to the park is strictly controlled to help reserve the landscape in its original condition.
