Lausanne University Gets New Director

The Lausanne University of Art and Design recently announced the appointment of a new director. Alexis Georgacopoulus has been appointed to take over from the legendary Pierre Keller as the head of the Lausanne University after 16 years.
Keller was responsible for getting the Lausanne art school into the limelight as one of Europe's leading art and design schools by design magazine Wallpaper and one of the top ten design schools in the world by Business Week. Georgacopoulus has stated that the Lausanne school will continue to take risks to spark its creativity in visual arts, industrial design and visual communication.
Georgacopoulus had been a student of the Lausanne school himself in 1994 and at 24 he was the head of the industrial design department. Now at 35 he is going to take up the reins at the school after adding several design accolades to his name. He wants the institute to continue to establish itself as the premier design school.
